Multiple Personalities

So I have this blog, where I hang out with my lovely bloggy friends and write about whatever floats my boat. Then I set up a different blog (don't go there, there's nothing interesting on it yet) as my Author Blog (capital letters :-). I want to keep this blog just as it's been, and have that one for ... author stuff, I guess. More like my web page than a blog.

And, I had a Facebook page - my personal FB page. Now I also have a Facebook page for me as an author, and a Facebook page for my book. And of course I have that Twitter thing going, but there's just one of me on there. Twitter is wild enough without having more than one identity...

I have usernames and passwords up the kazoo and I had to write them all down. Suddenly I feel like I have multiple personalities - wait, who am I now???

Anyone else feel that way?

  1. It's probably a good idea to think ahead, so you sound like you're on track. Let us know at some point what is your author blog link. :)

  2. I tried adding another blog but found that I just couldn't do it. I don't have FB or twitter. I am soooo behind the times.
I am in awe of people that have multiple blogs...I just don't know how it all gets done!

  4. Another writer was telling me I just HAD to be on goodreads. I had to go and give reviews and Make friends.
Um sorry, but no. I'm working too hard on my blog and twitter and Facebook. I don't have time to think about goodreads too. I say, pace yourself :)

  5. Stephsco - I will! I'm thinking the author blog won't really be a blog - it will be more like info about the book and where to get it, and any reading/signing dates coming up. But probably not true blog posts..And Jen - i saw the same thing about Goodreads and I even created a log - in, but seriously - it's too much. I'd rather have quality interactions with fewer people....I'm trying to simplify at this stage of life, not complicate.

  6. Joanne - I think you actually have the right idea! I think the value of twitter for me remains to be seen -it's like the blog world in a way - it's so big, but you still have to make it somehow smaller in order to have real conversations with real people. Angelique, we'll figure it out - I think there is something to the "less is more" idea...
